Refunds
A full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as the key has not been used. The rule is short because what it protects is simple: if you bought a plan and have not used it, you should not have to explain why you want the money back.
The rule
Within 14 days of purchase, and unused: a full refund. The whole amount, no fee kept back, and no questions beyond the order number. After 14 days, or once the licence has been used, a purchase is not refunded.
Payment is handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, so the refund is issued by Paddle, to the payment method you paid with.
What counts as use
- Pro: a conversion started with the key.
- Visual Edit Pro: the editor key activated on a site.
A refused conversion is not use
html2wp is in beta, and the service refuses a conversion it cannot do, in prose, before it runs: a site over the page limit, or a new conversion while the previous one has not yet reported its gate results. A conversion the service refused before it ran does not count as use. Neither does a re-run: correcting the page roles and uploading the same site again is a re-run, not a second conversion.
Subscriptions: Pro and Visual Edit Pro
The first payment follows the same rule: a full refund within 14 days, as long as the key has not been used, which means no conversion started on Pro and the editor not activated on any site for Visual Edit Pro.
A renewal, monthly or yearly, can be refunded within 14 days of the renewal charge, as long as the key has not been used since the renewal date. If you meant to cancel and forgot, that is what this is for.
Cancelling is not a refund, and does not need one. It stops the next renewal; the period already paid for keeps working to its end, the unused part of it is not paid back, and the themes you produced are yours regardless. Cancel on the subscription page, from the link in your Paddle receipt, or by writing to us.
How to ask
- Through Paddle: the receipt email from Paddle has a link to manage the order at
paddle.net, where you can request a refund directly. The subscription page leads to the same place. - Or write to us at hello@html2wp.dev with the order number from that receipt. A person reads it and answers, usually the same day.
Paddle refunds to the original payment method. How long the money takes to show up after that depends on your bank or card issuer, not on us.
After a refund
Once a refund is approved, the key the purchase issued is blocked automatically, and the subscription it belongs to is cancelled, so it does not renew. If that cancellation does not go through on its own, it reaches us and we cancel it by hand.
Chargebacks
If a payment is reversed through your bank instead, the keys it issued are blocked in the same way. Asking us or Paddle first is quicker, and within the rule above it gets you the same money back.
Your statutory rights
EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from online purchases. For digital content that right can end once delivery begins with your consent, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply it that way: the right ends once you start using the licence.
This policy is on top of that, not instead of it. Nothing here removes a right the law of your country gives you. The full terms of a purchase are in the service terms.
